Terms and Conditions

1.The Agency

Majestic will endeavour to secure the best terms with clients possible, paying particular attention to staff safety, hours, fees and working conditions.

Whilst we will promote individuals for assignments we can not guarantee selection, the ultimate decision is always with the client. As you already know, those individuals with a reputation for professionalism are always those who are offered the most work. Remember reputation is everything in this industry.

We will do our best for you and will expect no less in return.

2. Etiquette

Whilst on assignments there are certain fundamental conduct issues which have to be adhered to, they are as follows.

Always arrive 15 minutes prior to commencement of assignment.

Always stick to your first booking.

•        Mobile phones are to be switched off during working hours.

•        All food and drink to be consumed during allocated breaks.

•        Smoking must be restricted to break times.

•        Rates not to be discussed with clients or colleagues.

We require a high standard of professionalism and this should cover all aspects connected with your work. Remember you are the public face of the company you are working for and as such should always present yourself and the product to the best of your ability. Enjoy your work and be amiable to the client but do remember that over familiarity can lead to problems and should be avoided.  

The model/worker must immediately notify the agency of any direct offer of work from any client of the agencies or any associates of the Agencies client's or any associates of the Agencies clients. In the event of that model/worker should be in breach of this clause, the agency' will be entitled to recover by the way of debt from the model/worker any commissions or fees which the 'agency' deem appropriate. In this instance any model/worker found to directly be working for a client introduced to Majestic or their associates will be instantly removed from Majestic's books. This could also lead to legal proceedings.

Under no circumstances must a model/worker divulge their personnel details to the agencies clients or any associate of the agencies client.

This is to include telephone number, address, email address, fax number or any social network/blogging sites.

Any model approached by a client for work, the work and the client must be referred back to the Agency. The model/worker will not miss out on the booking but the clients of the Agency and their bookings MUST go through the Agency.

3. Terms For Booking

When given an assignment we will take a verbal acceptance from you as confirmation of the booking; you will then be given written confirmation in the form of an assignment contract. This contract will include all details of timing, fees, job requirements, venues, location, other models booked and clothing needed. If the booking is a last minute booking we may be unable to post out the details, in this instance we will endeavour to email or fax the details to you. If neither is possible we will verbally give all the information to you. It is the responsibility of the model/worker to ensure they have all of the necessary information for the assignment and that they know were they are going.

4. Other Agencies

Once you have been accepted onto Majesti c's books you are not allowed to join another Model and Casting Agency within a 35-mile radius of the agency, this is to include The North West Agencies - i.e Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington etc..

We will not allow another agency within a 35-mile radius to represent you or to be placed on their website. . If you find that an agency is doing so without your/the agencies consent you must immediately inform Majestic Models & Casting. You should then instruct the aforesaid agency to remove you from their website immediately.

5. Website

If you are selected to represent the agency on the model/casting website it is to the agencies discretion which photographs from your portfolio are used on the agency's website. It is your responsibility to check all your details and measurements are correct on the site and to keep us updated if anything is to change. Majestic Models and Casting can not be held responsible for errors on your details. If you do discover an error has been made to your details please inform the agency immediately so we can amend them accordingly. The cost of a 1 year portfolio placement on the website is £75 for models and £50 for casting, this will either be deducted from your first salary or is payable within 28 days of signing, this is at the discretion of the agency. The deduction for website payment will be made from your first month's salary if applicable.

6. Portfolios

As a modelling agency we accept new applicants to our agency on the basis of good snap shots. We are looking for a wide range of potential. We do not accept make-over studio shots - save those as a gift for family!

We have become increasingly aware of ‘New models starting out’ paying for make-over studio shoots and receiving a ‘complete’ portfolio. Unfortunately this does nothing other than provide a very expensive album. In some cases potential models are paying over one thousand pounds for nothing more than a very expensive album which has NO real use.

A portfolio can never be built up in one shoot. A full portfolio is built up over time and will contain many looks, ideas and concepts which will help us a model agency pitch the model to a range of clients. One photographer and a few outfit changes achieves very little (if you watch “Britain's Next Top Model” you will see the winner has 12 photos from 12 photo shoots by 12 different photographers and make-up artists with 12 different backgrounds).

A Good and Reputable Agency has a very simple way to see if someone is photogenic – arrange a basic Test Shoot with clear and transparent pricing of an acceptable small fee and the model informed in advance of the total cost, not after it. This price should include the photographer and assistant, studio, any lighting or props and provide the model with a couple of good quality shots. A possible additional small fee may be charged (providing the model is informed in advance) if a make-up artist or stylist is needed. This test shoot is all you need to move things forward and for an agency to evaluate your potential as a model. A test shot is just that – it is a test to see how you photograph. In this case less is most definitely more.

Please note; Any free test shoots arranged by the agency for the model remain the property of the agency and as such the model is not allowed to be promoted by another model agency using the images that have been arranged free of charge by the agency. Test shoots photograph's are for the sole use of the agency to promote the model.

I agree if I do not have my own professional portfolio I will submit you a professional portfolio up to agency standards within 28 days of this agreement, so you can put me forward to clients.

7.Dismissal and Strikes

At Majestic Models and Casting we operate a "3 strike's and your out' system. You can pick up a strike for lateness, leaving early without prior consent from the client, poor quality of work as well as any point's not adhered in clause 2. You will be notified in writing if you receive a strike. If you are found giving your personal contact details out to a client or any associate of the client (this is to include photographers, make-up artists and stylists) this would be instant dismissal.

8. Proof of Work

Please note it is really important as model to get any magazine, press, brochure's etc etc that you appear in for your portfolio if testing for a photographer the agency will always ensure that you receive the prints/magazine/brochure you have been promised. It is not your responsibility to chase Majestic Models & Casting's photographers for such material but the agency.

9. Invoicing and Payment

The fee we quote you on booking is the fee you receive, our commission has already been taken out. Any travel expenses are included in the total fee unless otherwise stated. If expenses have been

authorised then the agency must be invoiced together with the relevant VAT receipts. All invoices for expenses must reach us within 3 days of the assignment ending to ensure payment. Any expense invoices received 3 months after the assignment will not be paid.

The payroll is run monthly on the 15th of the month. (unless stated otherwise) To be included on the monthly payroll. If you supply us with your bank details we will pay directly in to your bank account, if we do not have your bank details we will automatically issue a cheque for payment. I understand and agree that I am not an employee of Majestic Models & Casting. Rather, You agree that you are retaining us to perform services for you, unless agreed otherwise. You agree that you are liable for your own Tax and National Insurance as a self-employed person to which you will supply the agency with a self-assessment number so that you can be paid as a self-employed person, unless agreed otherwise.

10. Cancellations

To cancel a booking a verbal acceptance is taken as confirmation of booking. If you do have to cancel a job please notify us immediately to allow us to find a replacement or indeed re-book you. Depending on circumstances we may have to charge a cancellation fee if notice is less that 24 hours - this will apply to both client and personnel.

11. Provisional Bookings

If you are placed on a provisional booking you must keep this date free for Majestic Models and Casting unless released by the agency. Provisional bookings will be followed up by the agency regularly and we will keep you informed of the progress. Provisional bookings will be cancelled with the client if within 48 hours of the booking no definite arrangements can still be made and a definite booking has been offered for a model. Please always check with the agency if you are offered work for the same dates as a provisional booking.

12. Appearance

We expect all models to be well groomed for castings and assignments. For girls this means fingernails and toes to be well manicured. Natural tones with your make-up for castings, hair must be freshly washed. Jewellery must be kept to a minimum. Guys should always be clean and again hair well groomed.

13. Timings

All timings will be stated on your your contracts, these should be strictly adhered to. We expect you to allow yourself plenty of time to get to venues taking into account traffic jams, train strikes and the possibility of getting lost. Always aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time. Please note if for any reason you are running late, you must telephone the agency so we may inform our client. Or if it is a night/weekend booking you must telephone Joanne or (whoever is the contact on your assignment details).

14. Hotels

Accommodation is not provided on most assignments unless stated on your contract. Clients will all have different budgets we will notify you of allowances on your contract. However, all incidentals e.g drinks, phone calls and newspapers etc will be payable by yourselves and should be settled on the morning of departure.

15. Client Referral

We offer rewards/incentives - If the model/worker refers a client to the agency and as a direct result the client makes a booking with agency the model/worker will be financially rewarded.
